Exhibition idea:
Wind and Water is a project that I started working on a few years ago. My works in this series of paintings revolve around the close connection between the natural world and Eastern Philosophy.
In this research, I am especially interested in the laws of nature or issues related to the environment. Asians believe that the harmonious rotation of wind and water brings people peace, prosperity, health and happiness. Through the lens of Eastern Philosophy, these two sources of energy are one of the elements that make up the universe and are also one of the important scientific factors in the operation of each of our bodies. Not only that, the reunion of wind and water also has many different expressions, sometimes soft and flexible, sometimes fierce and cruel. From this perspective I describe my work from a metaphysical point of view.
Throughout the work process, I apply geometric space to build a series of works. Through the basic principle of fractal geometry, basic shapes are combined together and repeated to form a composition. Based on this theory, I create works in the style of Geometric Abstraction.
Besides, the way of drawing shapes, colors, techniques and space are handled simply, so that the composition structure of the work interacts directly with the outside environment is quite interesting. With a surface thickness of twenty centimeters protruding from the wall surface along with the established picture frame structure, the work stands between the linguistic border of Painting and Sculpture. At the same time, I want to aim for a new structure in contemporary painting.
The structure of the work is divided into two parts and connected together logically, to create a strong unified link. From then on, the work opens up a dimension that guides viewers to a new vision. In this position, the work speaks for itself independently, serving as a bridge between Eastern and Western cultures.
Through skillful arrangement, the Motifs will be changed to create many different layout shapes while still retaining the visual elements, from here the work will open up many separate dimensions.
