TTO – On the evening of October 25, 2008, 8 acts participated in the final of the “2008 Performing Arts Talent” contest at Van Ho Exhibition Hall in Hanoi with a single prize worth 3,000 USD. The competition is organized by the Denmark-Vietnam Cultural Exchange and Development Fund.

A large number of young audiences in Hanoi crowded the yard of Van Ho Exhibition to enjoy and act as judges. The main method of judging is on-the-spot voting. The performance with the most votes from the audience will be awarded.

The final first prize went to Pham Van Truong with his performance piece “Question Marks” with the message “Could it be that before the universe was born, there existed question marks?…Question marks for you… Question marks for me…”. The performance work of Truong and the actors received quite a different number of votes from the remaining 7 works.

Commenting on the final night, as an audience member, Danish Ambassador Peter Lysholt Hansen replied to reporter Tuoi Tre: “It is gratifying that Performing Arts has become increasingly interested in young people. , enjoy. Although tonight’s works are not really excellent and most of them are mixed on stage, especially with a lot of dancing, it is still a good sign.” And famous performance artist Dao Anh Khanh said: “There is no performance that I really like.”

Just as Mr. Peter Lysholt Hansen commented, most of the entries and even the first prize-winning work were mixed with a lot of theater and dance. We can mention “The Siege” (Nguyen Van He), “Happy Pigs” (Pham Huy Thong), “Question Marks”… Some not-so-new conceptual works like “The Siege”, “Shadows ” (Tran Huynh Trieu An).“Love of Photos” (Le Quy Anh Hao) has a very lofty, big idea, but the way of expressing it is not very suitable. And the performance of an actor dragging a live chicken around the stage It also has nothing to do with the idea the author wants to convey.

Two very “quality” performance works, “Circular Motion” by Nguyen Huy An and “Waiting” by Le Thi Minh Nguyet, conveyed quite a good impression on the audience. However, it seems that the authors still lack a breakthrough to overcome.
